St. James Lutheran is a Preschool – 8th grade school serving Greater Lafayette area families. Our passion for education began in 1850 in a one room school house and, while much has changed, our dedication to sharing our Christian faith and love with all who walk through our doors has remained unchanged. Beginning in the Fall of 2025, St. James will begin transitioning to the timeless Christ-Centered Classical Education model.
Christological
We endeavor to train devoted disciples of Christ, equipped with a biblical worldview by which they are able to evaluate the entire range of their experiences in light of the unchanging Word of God.

We offer a rich and holistic approach to learning by integrating faith, reason, and virtue. Rooted in the classical tradition, we strive to cultivate critical thinking, eloquent expression, and a deep appreciation for truth, beauty, and goodness.
