Part-Time Classical Academy English Teacher

St. James Lutheran Classical Academy is a Kindergarten–8th grade school transitioning into a Christ-centered classical education model. Position Summary

St. James Lutheran School is seeking a faithful and dedicated junior high English teacher who understands teaching as a Christian vocation, a calling to form both the minds and hearts of students. This position may be filled by an LCMS rostered teacher, a candidate for a divine call, or an educator with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.

1. Spiritual Leadership

• Demonstrates consistent participation in Word and Sacrament life 
• Lead students in prayer and Scripture
• Help students apply God’s Word

2. Instruction & Formation

• Teach core subjects with clarity and purpose
• Desires to teach within a classical Christian framework, including literacy, literature, grammar, Latin, and strong elementary mathematics 
• Assess student growth

3. Classroom Culture

• Maintain structured, engaging classroom
• Practice discipline grounded in Law and Gospel

4. Partnership & Communication

• Build strong relationships
• Communicate with families
• Participate in school life

5. Professional Engagement

• Collaborate with staff
• Represent the school positively
• Pursue professional growth

6. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; meets licensure requirements
• Committed Christian
• Strong teaching and communication skills
