Fall Concert

Following quickly on the heels of the Grades 1-5 Musical, the students in the Middle School and 5th Grade Band were able to share their talents!

The Middle School Band (students with 2-4 years of experience) began the theme of Journeys with a fun piece taking us on a Time Machine to the Cavemen, Ancient Egypt and into the future with Robots. We love composer Randall Standridge. After a Copeland inspired hoedown, they concluded their portion of the concert with Engines of Resistance.

The fifth grade band students have only been playing a month but that did not hold them back. Between features from our method book of Lamb Chops (aka Mary Had A Little Lamb), Go Tell Aunty (Rhody) and Hot (Cross) Bundt Cakes, individuals shared pieces they have learned independently. We are excited for the journey these students are on and our next performance!

Our Middle School Choir concluded the concert with a journey through “folk” music including Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel (African American Spiritual), Aiken Drum (Scottish Folk Tune) and Yellow Submarine (Beatles). This group of singers is especially talented and would rival any big Middle School in the county.
