SCRIPPS Spelling Bee
On February 8, St. James held it’s school spelling bee. The top 4-5 spellers from grades 5-8 met with Language Arts teacher, Mrs. Lynn Keiser for several weeks leading up to the event. They learned nuances of spelling including parts of speech and language of origin.
The top 5 students from the St. James Bee competed with the top spellers from the area Christian schools. Our school champion competed this past weekend in the SCRIPPS Regional Spelling Bee with the 32 school winners from Tippecanoe and the surrounding counties. The winner at this level qualifies for the National Spelling Bee.
