Music is one of the greatest gifts God has given us.
At St. James, we provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn about music and use their musical abilities to glorify God. The curriculum for music includes the following:

- General Music Classroom where the focus is on becoming Tuneful, Beatful and Artful
- Playing pitched and unpitched instruments
- Singing
- Movement
- Improvisation and composition
- Listening activities
- Choirs (beginning in PreK)
- Band (beginning in 5th Grade)
- Middle School General Music including Ukulele, World Drumming, and Handbells/Handchimes
Special Activities and Performances include:
- Musicals and Christmas Programs (All Grades)
- Lafayette Christmas Parade Float
- ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest (Choir and Band)
- Organizational Choir Contest
- Circle the State with Song / Elementary and Middle School State Honor Choir
