Music is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. 

At St. James, we provide a variety of opportunities for students to learn about music and use their musical abilities to glorify God. The curriculum for music includes the following:

• General Music Classroom where the focus is on becoming Tuneful, Beatful and Artful 
  • Playing pitched and unpitched instruments
  • Singing
  • Movement
  • Improvisation and composition
  • Listening activities
• Choirs
• Band
• Middle School General Music including Ukulele, Drumming, Piano and Music History

Special Activities and Performances include:

• Musicals and Christmas Programs (All Grades)
• Lafayette Christmas Parade Float (Bands)
• ISSMA Solo and Ensemble Contest (Choir and Band)
• Organizational Choir Contest
• Circle the State with Song / Elementary and Middle School State Honor Choir
• Lutheran Schools Fine Arts Festival in Indianapolis (Choir and Band)
