Crusader Weekend Basketball
Our Varsity Basketball and cheerleading teams traveled to New Haven, Indiana to participate in the inaugural John Weber Memorial Tournament at Central Lutheran School. Both girls and boys teams played well and showed great promise for a successful season to come.
Our Lady Crusaders took a loss in their Friday night game, but pulled out the win in their second game to make it to the consolation championship, Saturday evening. Though they lost their final game, we are proud of their fight to play as a team, and their determination to play hard until the ending buzzer.
Our Varsity boys took hard fought losses in their first two games, coming down to the final seconds, on Saturday. They brought home the win in their final game, on Sunday, playing well as a team, using lessons learned from the weekend, and determination.
We are proud of our teams for their great sportsmanship and how well they represented our school family. At St. James, we focus on the development of the whole child. We often remind our athletes that while it may be tempting to pursue personal recognition and self-interests in activities like sports, it doesn’t mean that we can’t participate in and enjoy sports for the glory of God. God can use our strength, dedication, and bravery as part of our Christian journey to honor Him.
Our athletes were appreciative of the support and encouragement from the cheerleading squad and those who watched from home.
We are PROUD to be Crusaders!
FAITH centered, FAMILY focused, FUTURE driven, FOUNDATION built.
